The Blockhouse

The Blockhouse was where the soldiers could keep watch over the surrounding countryside and defend the fort in the event of its being attacked. Jutting out from the stockade wall and with it's overhanging second story, it provided an unobstructed line of fire along two sides of the fort walls.
