The Log Chapel was the dream of the late Dr. Clarence Tompkins, a member of the museum Board of Directors and the founder of the Friendship Haven Retirement Home in Fort Dodge. The building was constructed by the Buildings Trades classes of Iowa Central Community College using traditional log cabin construction techniques.
The chapel has been the site of numerous weddings and baptisms and Saturday evening services are held during the summer by a local church.
